Brinno
Brinno is well known for its innovative time lapse cameras since 2009 when they introduced their first time lapse camera. Their cameras are known for being compact, weatherproof, and easy to use. Over the years, Brinno has continued to innovate, developing hardware and software solutions that simplify the process of capturing high-quality time lapse videos. The company has received numerous awards for its products, including the Red Dot Design Award and the Good Design Award. Brinno’s cameras are widely used in various fields, from construction and agriculture to art and daily lifestyle documentation.
Best for: Long-duration shoots (excellent battery life), wide range of accessories (solar panel, weather proofing), easy-to-operate, HD quality image capture
Short-comings: No remote access (though the Brinno Extender Kit allows for access via 10m cable)

Afidus
Afidus entered the time lapse camera market with the release of the Afidus ATL-200 in 2018. It featured a compact design, long battery life, and advanced features like optical zoom and Wi-Fi app control. Enlaps
Enlaps, a French company, has made a notable impact in the time lapse camera market with their innovative Tikee series. The company launched its first product, the Tikee camera, on Kickstarter in 2015. This camera was designed to be user-friendly and self-sufficient, featuring dual lenses and a solar panel for continuous operation. Since launch, Enlaps has sold over 20,000 Tikees in more than 90 countries and 20m images are uploaded monthly all across the world.
The Tikee camera quickly gained popularity for its ability to capture high-quality time lapse videos over long periods, making it ideal for various applications such as construction monitoring, environmental observation, and creative projects. Enlaps has continued to evolve its products, focusing on enhancing user experience and incorporating advanced technology.
Their cameras are known for being weatherproof and accessible via a web application (myTikee platform), allowing users to manage their projects remotely. Enlaps remains committed to innovation, continually improving their cameras to meet the needs of both professional and amateur photographers.
Best for: Remote accessibility (with 4G SIM card - not included), highest quality image capture (up to 6K with Tikee4), in-built solar panel (Tikee4), quality (2yr warranty), weather resistance (IP66 standard), sophisticated monitoring capability with myTikee platform that allows for AI driven analytics (activity monitoring, safety detection).
Short-comings: Cost (relative to Brinno and Afidus albeit commensurate with the capability/functionality of the hardware and software), additional subscription plan required to get access to cloud/AI analytics platform (more information here).
